Beautiful Craigielea Mountain Retreat is set within the 32 acre historic "Craigielea" property. The modern accommodation offers every luxury the discerning couple would desire for a relaxing, unforgetable getaway.

Craigielea Mountain Retreat is the luxury, self-contained guest accommodation adjacent to the historic homestead. Some traditional elements, such as the bull nose verandah are integrated in an overall sleek contemporary design.

The interiors, in particular, are modern and uncluttered. Timber finishes and earthy, natural colours harmonise with the landscape. The walls are hung with many fine etchings of great Australian artists, such as Arthur Boyd, Charles Blackman, Clifton Pugh and others. These are a private continuation of the art works hanging in the main gallery.

All suites are temperature controlled, have king size beds, electric blankets, luxurious continental quilts and extra blankets. Ensuites have large double spas, hairdryer, heated towel rails and quality bath robes. Scented bath oils and candles are provided for that special romantic atmosphere.

Each suite has its own fully equipped kitchen, wood fire and reverse cycle air conditioner, minibar, sound system, television, DVD player with a range of DVDs, telephone, modem and binoculars.

The Cooking School is conducted within the main house which was built in 1875. As well as being a home, it also functions as a private art gallery, not open to the general public, with access only to guests or participants in our various workshops. The kitchen is a modern addition to the homestead. Numbers are strictly limited and all classes are "hands on".

As part of this special experience, the group sits down to eat the meal they have prepared in our Main Gallery Room, surrounded by paintings and sculptures by some of Australia's most prominent artists. Partners are invited to share in these "dinner parties".

Small Corporate daytime functions for 10 to 32 people are frequently held in the Main Gallery Room of historic "Craigielea", surrounded by works of art by some of Australia's greatest painters. The relaxed yet historic atmosphere of the room lends itself to productive social and business meetings as well as team building.

The close proximity of "Craigielea" to both Melbourne and the airport, makes it a very convenient venue for meetings with a difference. "Craigielea" has a fine reputation for high quality food and wines. We are fully licensed. Privacy is assured as only one group is accommodated at any one time.

The gardens and Main Gallery Room are the ideal venue for your small, intimate wedding and reception. Your guests will be treated to a sumptuous banquet in true 5 star Craigielea style. Craigielea can cater for up to 32 guests in the Main Gallery Room, and 60 in a garden marquee. Craigielea staff will help you arrange absolutely everything, including your Marriage Celebrant, Photographer, Hairdresser, Flowers and Musicians.

Pre wedding and wedding night accommodation are right at hand, in one of the luxurious suites. If you are getting married at "Craigielea", your second night in the suite is a gift from Craigielea.
