About, Facilities, Activities
Silver Ridge Wilderness Retreat is nestled on the North West slope of Mt Roland and is surrounded by crown reserve land. The bush is delightfully varied and easily accessible with excellent walking trails. The "1870's" silver/lead mine was one of the earliest developments in the district.
The property covers 150 acres of which about 50 acres are cleared while the rest is largely natural bush. There are many natural springs and for most of the year the sound of running creeks and water flowing between the dams is a feature of the retreat. There are a few sheep, our riding horses, chickens, geese and abundant native animals and birds.
There are magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and over the valley from Silver Ridge. Our self-contained " 4-star" rated cottages are comfortable and spacious with cosy wood heaters.
The complex is spread over 5 acres of landscaped gardens and in a farm environment, with views in every direction, the atmosphere is one of peace and tranquillity.
When you just have to get away from the stress and the rat race, but still want your creature comforts, Silver Ridge is a safe and comfortable place with the wilderness at your doorstep. With our affordable pricing you can stay as long as you need.
A fully licensed restaurant, "The Night Owl", offers a three course choice menu with some vegetarian options. Specialising in Tasmanian country-style cuisine the menu includes locally grown produce.
