Service: The Staff on Heron Island were fantastic, always helpfull and saying hello, not something that all resorts encourage.
Cleanliness: The Resort was very well maintained and general cleanliness was great. Our room was spotless on arrival and well maintained during our stay.
Room: We stayed in a Heron Beachside Suite which we think was some of the best value accommodation on the Island. We had a great view from our room and it was nice and close to the Island facilities, our room was also very clean on arrival, a big plus.
Facilities: The resort had a wide range of things to do in regards to activities like diving snorkelling. The Day Spa was fantastic, It had been years since I last had a massage that good.
Location: Just off Gladstone, a beautifull Island Resort.... what more do you want?
Value for money: It can be a little expensive, but I think it was well worth it. The memory of this getaway leaves me with a big cheesy grin on my face.
Overall comments: Absolutley amazing! we stayed for 3 nights 4 Days and to be honest it just wasn't long enough. Heron Island is one of the most beautifull places we have ever been to. Seeing the reef as we arrived by boat transfer was stunning, and since we had only got our open water dive certification the week before, we felt tingles thinking of the wonders below. After unpacking and getting organised we went for a walk on the beach only to see baby turtles hatching and making their way to the water, once again, amazing! Food on Heron was great, with Saturday being a seafood buffet night, other nights are a set menu that was equally as good, lunch left a little to be desired though. But if thats all I can pick at, they are doing quite well. The diving on Heron was something else, If you do go and stay YOU MUST DIVE, even if it is just a discover scuba dive, do it. Never in my life have I seen such an array of fish and creatures. We saw turtles, reef sharks, massive schools of fish, the giant local groper named Gus, sadly we didnt get to see a manta ray though.... oh well maybe next time.
