Caloundra is the ideal base from which to explore the Sunshine Coast. Caloundra is blessed with beautiful beaches for swimming and all manner of water sports, the sheltered waters of Pumicestone Passage to the south are perfect for fishing, boating and wind surfing.

Caloundra bustles with activity, from delightful local markets to large shopping centres. There are small intimate cafes and coffee shops alongside upmarket restaurants for that special night out. Major attractions, such as Aussie World and Australia Zoo, are within easy reach from Caloundra.

Inland from Caloundra, charming mountain villages sit between swathes of cool, peaceful rainforest and rolling green hills. There are days to be spent here, admiring the creative heart of the region with its splendid array of art and craft and partaking of the wonderful wines, cheeses and other locally-made and locally-grown produce. You can wind down, with a gentle bushwalk or sunset beach picnic. Or up the tempo with an exhilarating hot air balloon ride, rock climb, tandem skydive or race around Big Kart Track. The Caloundra climate is surreal, summers are glorious, and the winters average a mild 21°Celsius. There are clear blue skies almost daily... this is the Sunshine State after all.
