In a lush tropical setting of palms and stately melaleucas is a romantic hideaway with a beach cottage atmosphere.

The Reef Retreat at Palm Cove is twenty minutes north of Cairns, and forty minutes south of Port Douglas.

From The Reef Retreat you will be able to organise all your tours, from snorkling and diving on the Great Barrier Reef, to rainforest safaris, deep sea fishing, local indigenous cultural performances, horse riding, outback adventures, white water rafting and many more.

The Reef Retreat - Room Information.

In a lush tropical setting of palms and stately melaleucas is a romantic hideaway with a beach cottage atmosphere. The Reef Retreat epitomises the North Queensland style of tropical living.

An intimate boutique retreat consisting of 36 studios, suites and villas, complete with bedroom, bathroom, living area, kitchenette and spacious private balconies, some with stunning views of the Coral Sea, some with views of the pool, lush tropical gardens and the mist shrouded mountains.

Studios
Studios, completely renovated in 1996 in the architectural style of Tropical North Queensland, include a sleeping and living area with kitchenette and private balconies facing the lush tropical gardens, pool and mountains.  4 persons max. Floor area 40 sq metres. Ground and First floors.

Garden/Pool View Suites
Suites, built in 1995, include two rooms, a sleeping and living area with kitchenette, divided by sliding western red cedar louvre doors. Designed by an award winning architect, they were built to blend into this unique rainforest setting next to the sea. Spacious, private balconies face the lush tropical gardens and pool.  4 persons max. Floor area 50 sq metres. First, second and third floors.

Ocean View Suites
A choice of two different room layouts, these suites offer expansive views of the Coral Sea and giant paperbark trees and the sound of lapping waves.

Ocean view suite I
Built in 1995, this room layout includes two rooms, a sleeping and living area with kitchenette divided by sliding louvre doors, as well as bathroom with shower and bathtub. The living room and bedroom open onto a spacious, private balcony. 4 persons max.

Ocean view suite II
Built in 2000, this room layout includes one room inside, the bedroom, featuring a luxurious bathroom complete with spa bath; and one room outside, a living area and kitchenette, on the verandah. Sliding doors close off one room from another creating an open outdoor / indoor ambience. 2 persons max.  Floor area 40 sq metres. First, second and third floors.

Spa Suites
Spa suites, built in 1997, include two rooms, one bedroom inside, featuring a luxurious bathroom complete with spa bath, and one living area with kitchenette on the verandah. Sliding doors close off one room from another, creating an open outdoor/indoor ambience. Rooms are tucked unobtrusively amongst the giant paperbark trees and overlook the pool and lush tropical gardens.  2 persons max. Floor area 35 sq metres. Ground and first floor.

Two Bedroom Villas

Option one
The two bedroom villa, on level three is spacious throughout with quality fittings including a full kitchen and its own laundry. The living room featuring cathedral ceilings and western red cedar louvre doors opens onto the spacious verandah with expansive views of the Coral Sea and giant paperbark trees. The spacious bathroom comes complete with spa bath.

Option two
Two suites with adjoining doors can be booked for the price of one, two bedroom villa in low season (1st April to 31st May and 1st December to 31st March), excluding Christmas and Easter.  6 persons max. Floor area 120 sq metres. Third floor entry.
