The low rise units have a distinct Mediterranean look and feel about them and are well positioned to catch the sea breeze. Units feature stylish furnishings, bathroom, kitchenette, colour TV and cool slate floors which lead onto your own private balcony.

A highlight of any stay at Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort will be the opportunity to interact closely with our native wildlife.

Each evening the Tangalooma inshore dolphins eagerly swim up to the beach, adjacent to the well lit jetty, where they are rewarded with fresh fish hand fed to them by our Dolphin Care staff and Resort Guests. Whether you are actually participating in the feeding or simply watching from the jetty, you will be overwhelmed by these beautiful creatures.

In the mornings our resident pelicans and cormorants also enjoy a bucket or two of fish hand fed to them on the beach.

Hand feeding Tangalooma?s pod of wild dolphins is by far the most popular activity that both adults and children can participate in. Each evening the dolphins, varying in numbers from usually five up to ten swim into the shallow well lit area adjacent to the Resort Jetty to be hand fed their favourite fish.

The Jetty itself is an excellent vantage point from which to view these incredible creatures as they swim around at great speed, upside down, catching their own fish before the hand feeding begins. Due to the depth of water required to safely feed the dolphins children under about 8 years of age will need to be carried into the water. Staff will assist if you have difficulty with this requirement.

In the 12 months from 1 July 1998 only 3 nights were recorded when no dolphins came in to feed. This is usually caused by extreme poor weather conditions factored in with very low tides where the dolphin cannot see the beach through the broken water. Thankfully we are on the mostly protected western side of Moreton Island.

The Resort comprises 170 low rise units and villas subtly nestled in natural bushland and landscaped gardens. Each unit features stylish cane furnishings, bathroom, kitchenette, telephone and colour TV, most with private balconies and all within 50 metres of the beach. Villas are two story apartments with two bedrooms and total family accommodation for up to 8 occupants.

Activities on the Resort are many and varied: snorkelling, sailing, scuba diving, water skiing, tennis, archery, squash, bush walking, sand tobogganing, the list goes on. Take a four wheel drive tour into the beautiful Moreton Island National Park, our tours will take you to some of the most ecologically significant and picturesque parts of Moreton Island.

Birdlife abounds around the Resort with Pelicans and Cormorants at the regular feeding, plus a swooping visit from a pair of Whistling Kites and a Brahminy Kite. In the evening the Kookaburras will often make an appearance and you can get within a few feet with your camera.

At night enjoy the hospitality of Tursiop?s Restaurant or the more casual Beach Cafe. After dinner you can join the nightly entertainment or just take a quiet moonlight stroll along the beach.

Car Parking
Holt Street Wharf has ample parking, the current charge is $6.00 per day or part thereof and $30.00 per week. The parking area is not undercover nor guaranteed secure, but is a locked-up and fenced area.

Getting There
PLEASE NOTE:We automatically (unless advised otherwise in the 'Comments' section of the booking form) book 2 ADULT seats on the 10am launch service from Brisbane to Tangalooma on your day of arrival and 2 adult seats on the 4m boat from the Resort on departure day.
Payment to be made on arrival. (Adults $56.00 return). If these services are not required, or you wish to hold additional seats, please notify RESSERVATIONS - 7 days 8.30am - 5pm - at least 24 hours prior to travel, failure to do so will incur a 50% cancellation fee on any unused services we have held on your behalf.

Tangalooma runs a high speed 200 passenger Catamaran service from our Wharf at Holt Street, Pinkenba in Brisbane to the Resort on Moreton Island. Departure times from Brisbane are 10am and 5pm Daily. The journey takes 75 minutes. The return Catamaran from Tangalooma departs at 4.00pm Daily (also at 9am commencing late september, 2004).

Holt Street wharf is situated approx. 1 km downstream from the Gateway Bridge on the north bank of the Brisbane River.

From the City and Western Suburbs - Head along Kingsford Smith Drive, approx. 2km past the Gateway Motorway overpass, turn right into Holt Street and follow to the end.
From the Gold Coast and South - Follow the Gateway motorway then take the first exit over the Gateway Toll Bridge (City exit) to Kingsford Smith Drive. Turn right under the overpass, along Kingsford Smith Drive for approx. 2km then right into Holt Street and follow to the end.
From the Sunshine Coast and North - Follow the Gateway motorway then take the 'City' exit (First exit after the Airport Exit) to Kingsford Smith Drive. Turn right along Kingsford Smith Drive for approx. 1km then right into Holt Street and follow to the end.

Transfer coach from city & Brisbane Airport to Our Warf
Our Transfer Coach connects with the 10am Launch daily as well as with the 4pm RETURN launch from the Island. It picks-up Guests from the Brisbane City Transit Centre as well as the Brisbane Domestic and International Airports.
