The Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn at Jabiru is situated in the heart of Kakadu National Park, one of the few World Heritage Areas listed for both cultural and natural heritage, and one of the world's greatest nature reserves.
Just two and a half hours drive from Darwin, the Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn provides an ideal base for exploring Kakadu’s Nourlangie and Ubirr Aboriginal rock art galleries, Yellow Water Billabong, the towering 400 metre sandstone escarpment of Arnhem Land and other attractions within Kakadu, including Jim Jim and Twin Falls.
The hotel, created by a Darwin architect working with the local Aboriginal people, is in the shape of a 250 metre crocodile. Its jaws encompass the entrance, which leads to an expansive marble foyer designed to represent a cool, green billabong. The crocodile’s body section houses 110 guest rooms overlooking a central courtyard with a recreation of a natural billabong and a shaded swimming pool, designed to represent the crocodiles heart.
Dining options include Gingas Tavern, for pizzas and counter meals, and the Escarpment Restaurant and Bar, which features a contemporary menu and a buffet option.
The Ochre Gallery has paintings and artefacts, and there is a gift shop with clothing and personal necessities.
